DIALOGUE CHALLENGING INTERNATIONALLY ESTABLISHED MISCONCEPTIONS ON CONTEMPORARY POLITICS IN THE PHILIPPINES
Why the crackdown on ABS-CBN Network, a media giant airing media of various forms for decades now since Aquino People Power. In contrast to their parent media franchises abroad, especially those based in the US, our local CNN news outlet here in the Philippines has right-wing roots diametrically opposite to mainstream, left-leaning (progressives) CNN in the States, as we commonly refer here; same with local counterpart of media franchise adopted here from Inquirer based abroad, among few other media giants.

Not intended to be pessimistic about the US as a whole but like a lot of press in the US, our press here, too, at most times, present news or frame it in certain ways that favor giving leverage to political side their entity had been internally decided to existentially play a role in. That is, domestic press we have here, with it’s favours to the right-leaning faction of the ultra-rich and their malignantly arrogant life-style. Therefore, there is a need to fill that gap of providing alternative perspectives on local politics here to foreign (political) observers and commentators in the international community. And this platform seeks to serve beyond just that single purpose by having in mind providing insights and lessons from our domestic politics, culture and status quo in ways that will make sense across varying demographics, societies and cultures, and especially providing context-based—cultural, correlation with co-existing social institutions, sectors, etc.—intelligence basically unseen from foreign observers’ perspective but truths inherent, perhaps, even commonplace knowledge here.

Seeking dialogue with and to contrary foreign views, my challenge to globally established misconceptions about the political sainthood of past reign of Aquino dynasty and their allies and cronies and their slogan of People Power Revolution artificially hyped abroad, and, on the other hand, demonized previous administration of Duterte side-by-side and compoundly intertwined with the Marcoses from an assembly of local press having one-sided views
is if the former party’s legacy had been pro-poor and did not undermine the masses, why then are they astronomically rich? And what does them being a dynasty in the first place mean then other than underlying something sinister? And doesn’t a dynasty imply greed in a lot of cases? Basic.

The US and the Philippines had a long history of good relations. A glimpse on mutation of Philippine populace into a narco-society. Witnessing first-hand how  civilian society’s system of values shifting into a cluster of dis-values resulting from proliferation of illegal, dangerous drugs, therefore, a need for advocacy to address patterns in mutation of a whole culture due to rise in illegal drugs use. And just like the stages of degradation of Philippine society due to proliferation of drugs, Canada and the US had been in the early stages.

The EU had been under attack initially from without to be weakened by sowing racism and division in their social fabric, thus a resulting attack from within. Brexit was a milestone indicator of this sinister force seeking totalitarian global power. Insurgent groups, entrepreneurs and a relevancy of role of religion came together just like our People Power decades ago, cooked from similar patterns of insurrection to which Britain and the EU may learn from.

With our local culture characteristic with anarchy and dis-values encouraged in narco-societies, survival of the fittest is the norm, and, thus, there is little room in such a society for concerns on welfare of PWDs. (Persons With Disabilities) And with such a morally deteriorated culture in our societal roots we have locally, arises the need for guided views on addressing struggles of Persons With Disabilities as fundamentally a necessary part of the team, aside from fact that governmental policies and cultural norms around the world, by consensus, still is short on acknowledging real needs of PWDs. Thus, also to make a statement of inclusiveness, advisory role of perspectives from PWDs is institutionally given voice to bring helpful and profound views into the table, represented by UV-Rays* EVE.

The United States and Europe, with it’s established norm of upholding democracy and rule of law be the leader of upholding such great values for keeping law and order around the world. I believe there is hope in Europe and the US despite the present divisions sowed into their social fabric. For unlike in the Philippines, our mortal sin so-called Filipino pride collectively keeps us rejecting what we as a society should be correcting about our way of life. Unlike the US and Europe where problems in your societies have vocal critics honest on addressing what are the wrongs in your nations as a society. In the Philippines, no such critics especially on the mainstream; otherwise, such an individual’s views is silenced and denied empowerment and one’s personality and identity is attacked, and why purposes for this very medium isn’t intended for my compatriots’ eyes as even non-partisan, professional presentation of facts will bring berserk polarized responses from locals and cause a flock of constant existential threat. Therefore, there is hope to restore America and Europe, two contrasting leading societies having heavy emphasis on those very sacred values of democracy and rule of law but just a little different in respective ways of life as regards differing areas of life.
